Sunday, Mr. Healthy, myself, + a bunch of the Rich labbers ran to support a wonderful cause: American Brain Tumor Association. The event was the 1st annual Eldon Blake Memorial walk/run. Pictured left is Katie, who lost her father to Brain Cancer and organized this event herself. Pictured right is Jeremy, Mr. Healthy’s PI.
While the event had a slightly disorganized start, including the “5K” to be 2.5 miles, the distance of the run did not seem to matter when we were in such a supportive, uplifting atmosphere. The race opened with a man speaking about his survival of brain cancer, who now quit his job as a lawyer and travels around the country as a motivational speaker. Very moving. He got to yell “ready, set, go” and then walked the event with his son.
Mr. Healthy’s lab was very supportive of each other, enjoyed learning more about Katie’s father, + enjoyed this event a lot.
Great job everyone!! I’m so glad I got to be a part of this amazing cause with this great group of people!
After the race, a few of us went to Yours Truly for brunch. I ended up being in the mood for lunch instead of breakfast so I ordered a Cobb Salad + added some cottage fries to it.
