It’s official. Xander is now closer to age two than age one. Pass me the tissues!
This month has been SO fun; here are the details:
New words: out, off, on, down, and in (apparently he was working on prepositions – haha).
New signs: cheese, apple, boy, brother, where, play, turtle, wind, again, surprised, grumpy, and I love (best sign ever!)
This past month Xander’s increase in communication has been out of this world. He signs 3 word phrases now, which is the coolest thing to see. The phrases are typically something like “more please mama” or “food eat please” – so far mostly related to food. He also has been much more vocal. While he only picked up 5 more words this month, he has also created his own little language. He seriously sounds like he’s talking to himself but we have no idea what he’s saying. It’s so cute. I can’t wait to see the communication advances over this next month since it seems like he’s been putting a lot of effort into this area!
Also this month X is climbing on top of anything and everything. He also made his first piece of real artwork – he was very focused and really enjoyed it too. It was the first time he really had the patience for coloring (and using stickers made it extra fun for him!)
And I can’t be remised in mentioning that Xander has been a HUGE daddy’s boy this month – especially over the last half of the month, during the government shutdown. It’s so cute seeing them play and bond (I’ve even snuck a few preggo naps in too!)
Mommy and daddy love you Xander – you are so awesome!!
