Our sweet little first born, is two years old! We celebrated this past weekend with a playdate Saturday morning and a trip to the Natural History Museum Sunday afternoon. It was certainly a fun filled weekend! (And of course he loved having cake too!)
This past month has been with personality, growth, and so much fun! Here’s a peek into some highlights of Xander’s 24th month:
Like I mentioned last month, it’s really hard to keep track of all his new words and signs these days! I think this past month will be the last of me trying to remember all of them! We shall see. Here is what I did come up with his last month leading up to the big TWO!
New words: broccoli, glasses, house, brush, wash, teeth, George, mess, cheese, leaf, snake, open, bike, “X”, soap, ding dong, nest, wish, wet, jump, stuck, what, ice, trash, walk, run, fast, mix, rock, towel, crack, push, and BOING!
New signs: bug, sun, jump, what, great, football, panda, wish, and fire!
Xander’s imagination and pretend play is one of the most fascinating things to watch develop. Sometimes John and I just look at each other in awe, wondering: “How did he think of/learn that?” This age is definitely so much fun! He does definitely have a two year old opinion, but he really is such a sweet boy and can go a whole week with no time outs. He’s not a huge tantrum toddler (yet), which is nice!
Each week that passes Xander also is really stepping into his big brother role. He helps retrieve things for me if I’m nursing Lincoln, he tries to play with him, and he gets concerned when Lincoln is crying. I’m so excited how their interaction keeps growing! This summer should be a fun one!
I’m so glad you had an amazing birthday weekend, Xander. I’m so blessed to be your mommy and you fill my (and daddy’s) heart with so much love! We love you little big two year old!!
PS. I’m trying to think of a way to keep up with Xander’s updates, but not have them be monthly, now that he’s two. I was thinking 3 months check ins? What do you think?
