It’s been an exciting few days! Yesterday marked Xander’s 21 birthday and we can’t forget to recap his past month!
Xander’s communication continues to develop in both English and ASL. His new words include: eggs, buckle, football, gramma, sit, emma, row row row, X, open, socks, shoes, hat, cookie, and that’s it. It’s interesting to note that he has known the sign for many of these words for sometime – so it’s fun to see when he decides to speak the words! His new signs this month include: swimming, snow, Xander, summer, hot, weather, autumn, cold, warm, sun, season, poop, year, outside, favorite, secret, share, and cousin. You can see that he learned many new outdoor signs – this is in part due to receiving a new Signing Time DVD called Favorite Season.
This month also marked Xander’s last music class that we’ve been attending through our church. We are excited for the next session to start before Lent begins. It’ll be fun to bring little Lincoln along, while still giving Xander the fun and attention he’s used to. Xander will be keeping up with his swimming, but daddy will be taking over for the class series, with a Wednesday evening class. Lincoln and I will be able to come and watch or stay at home.
Snow hit Maryland this month and Xander had an absolutely blast playing in it! He literally could have stayed in it all day, wanted to be pushed around in his car, and enjoyed throwing snowballs with daddy.
And lastly, during Xander’s 21st month, little Lincoln arrived! His reaction when meeting his brother was so sweet and we are excited to see how their relationship grows. He already signs “baby eat milk” while I’m nursing and has been a gentle boy so far.
Happy 21 months Xander! Mommy and daddy love you!
