Hi Friends!! THANK YOU so so much for all your love and excitement for Baby Heddleston 2.0!! The likes and comments throughout all my social media channels have left me feeling very loved and I appreciate all your thoughts and words! Undoubtedly many people are curious for more details, so this post should wrap up some of those frequently asked questions!!
How far along are you?
I will be 15 weeks this Thursday.
When are you due?
December 26, 2013. Hence the Santa Claus themed announcement. John’s birthday is Christmas day so he would love to have the little munchkin share his birthday, but I would prefer that three celebrations don’t occur on the same day! Plus, Xander was 10.5 days early so I’m assuming this little one will be early too (although I know they say being early for one pregnancy doesn’t say you will be for the next).
How far apart will Xander and Baby 2.0 be?
When did you find out?
I found out pretty much as soon as it’s possible on an at home pregnancy test. I saw faint lines on April 19 (when I would have been just shy of 4 weeks pregnant) and then confirmed on April 21 with a digital pregnancy test (as well as another blue dye test – pictured below). This was the same day my Pike’s Peek 10K Race where I set a new PR!
Wait, so you were pregnant when you ran the Nike half marathon?
Yup, I was a little over 5 weeks at that time. Set a new PR too – not tooting my own horn or anything though!
Were you trying?
I’m answering this question simply to quell people’s curiosity, even though I don’t think this is an appropriate question. Shortly after Xander turned one I got my first period. When I thought I was ovulating I asked John if we should try and he agreed that we should (there was talk about all this previous as well). We figured it might take awhile to get pregnant, so trying made sense. We had no idea it would only take one try though! Yay us!
Is it a boy or a girl?
It’s too early to know.
Are you going to find out the sex?
I can’t talk John into being surprised, so yes we will find out the sex. This time around we won’t find out in the ultrasound room though – and will do a fun gender reveal part with some friends.
How are you feeling?
I’m feeling fine now, but the first trimester was pretty crappy starting around 7 weeks. I had a TON of nausea and even threw up. I also have had on and off lower back pain reminiscent to what I experienced more toward the end of my pregnancy with Xander. I’ve had two especially bad episodes with the back pain that make me convinced I will be having back labor again with this little one. I hope I’m wrong though!
Are you still running?
My running stayed pretty normal until the ZOOMA Annapolis 10K (now you all know why I dropped down to the 10K distance!) My running mileage typically decreases in the summer anyway due to the heat, so the timing of this pregnancy works out with decreased mileage. I’ve been focusing on stretch training via Best Body Bootcamp and I’ve been taking a Deep Water Running Class for the last four weeks – the class runs until August!
Are you still breastfeeding Xander?
Yup, four times a day. I’ve heard that sometimes your milk can change flavors due to pregnancy hormones and that your baby can start to self-wean, but X man has shown no signs of disliking the milk or self-weaning. He’s a boob guy!
Are you going to blog about this pregnancy like you did with Xander?
Absolutely. I loved having the week by week recap of my pregnancy experience with X and I’m excited to journal it all again!
If you have a question I haven’t covered, just let me know in the comment section and I will reply! Weekly bumpdates will start this week! Thanks for all the excitement!!
