These weeks are ticking right along! John and I call this period the “waiting weeks,” as the anatomy scan has been completed and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of my final trimester and then the birth of our second son! It really is true that your second pregnancy goes by much quicker than you’re first – you don’t have time to focus on every little change happening to your body since you have this toddler needing all your attention and fun! Well, I’ll stop my introduction yammering… I’ll be 25 weeks tomorrow, so it’s time to tell you all about week 24!
What’s Up With Baby: H2.0 is now over 8 inches long and weighs about 1.5 pounds, gaining about 6 ounces per week now. Much of that weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscles. His little face is almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair! So cool that all this happens so young!
What’s Up With Mama: I can tell baby is having a little growth spurt this week! My weight is up a bit and I’ve also been experiencing more annoying constipation. I don’t remember any constipation issues when I was pregnant with X, so this is all new territory and drives me nuts! This week I have felt very productive, which definitely makes me feel good – as well as exhausts me come evening time. H2.0 has dance parties every night and I feel him moving around throughout the day as well – absolutely love the feeling! I’ve amazingly been sleeping just fine and only wake up to pee once… which is usually right before John’s alarm wakes up for work… which is what was typical for me pre-pregnancy anyway! I hope the great sleeping keeps up! I had a checkup yesterday and all is well… nothing to report (it’s the “waiting weeks” after all!)
Moments of the Week:
1) Sneezing while getting undressed. Just use your imagination…
2) Running Color Me Rad with John and Holly!
3) Shallow water running starts tonight! Yippy!!
Topic of the Week: Baby H2.0’s First Purchase! A few weeks back, my topic of the week regarded the sleeping arrangements for X man and H2.0. (X is staying in his crib and H2.0 is rooming in with us). We had assumed a cradle/bassinet option would be a good fit, but after discussing things more with John and my mom over the weekend (my mom who graciously offered to be the cradle/bassinet purchaser), we opted to purchase a mini crib instead! This option will afford Xander even more time in his crib and will allow H2.0 to have more room/stay with us longer (or get put in the guest room at some point but coming back to our room when we have guests). I’m really happy with our decision and am excited to get our master bedroom rearranged for H2.0’s arrival! The rearranging will most likely take place mid-October, so I will do a little picture post when that’s ready!
Thanks again mom!
Hope you enjoyed the recap! If you have any questions for me or John along the way, please don’t hesitate to ask! <3
