One of the awesome things about being a WAHpreneur is that no day looks the same. This can be a little hard to get used to when you’re just starting your WAHpreneur journey… but eventually you’ll notice themes and trends with how you run your day or week. For instance, my main weekend tasks are 1) scheduling content into my Healthy Habits Support Group and 2) running a big monthly sale 1x/month for BAMR Bands. Knowing that these have a set place is helpful for getting my weekly tasks finished. On that topic, make sure you know what weekly tasks are needed and when you have due dates. Also, be sure to come to terms with your reality: do you have enough time to do what needs to be done each day, each week? Do you need to outsource some work to a virtual assistant? Do you need to add a babysitter to your week for a few hours? Being realistic for your days working from home is huge.
So why don’t I show you one of my days, shall I? I have a feeling Lindsey and I should make these day in the life posts recurring, as routines change as mom life and kid life change! My biggest change for this year is that my oldest boy started kindergarten! Walking to drop up/pick up is a new thing for us! Here is my day from Monday of this week:
6:30-7:45 – Everybody wakes up, gets dressed, and has breakfast.
During this time, I also pack Xander’s kindergarten lunch and my husband leaves for work around 7:15.
7:45-8:45 – We are fortunate enough to be walkers to X’s school, so we walk to drop off and then I take a long walk with the two younger kiddos in the double stroller. I love this part of the new routine!!
8:45-9:15 – We come home and get snacks. Between 9/9:15 I get Eli down for his first nap. At 17 months old, he’s at that weird stage of some days wanting 2 naps a day and some naps taking 1 nap a day. (L plays Starfall while I get Eli down).
9:15-11:45 – Eli takes a great nap. He’s a little snotty… presumably from new kindergarten germs that Xander is bringing home. Thankfully, the big boys haven’t gotten a cold. During this time, L and I play with puzzles, hot dots, read books, and play in the basement. We also have an hour where I work in the basement and L has his “gaming” time… (guys, it’s incredible how good L is at maneuvering a controller). Ohh, and I almost forgot, I prepped the stuffed shells for dinner tonight and made a mental note to actually put them in the oven later.
11:45-12:45 – Eli wakes up and we all eat lunch, get cleaned up from lunch, walk around on the deck for a little, and then read approximately 20 books, Haha! Eli is really into books these days.
12:45-2:30 – We play in the basement during this time and I’m able to engage with the boys part of the time, enjoy having them play together part of the time, and also get some things done – mainly for BAMR Bands during this stretch.
2:30 – We leave early to pick up X, while making some sidewalk loops in the parking lot (that drive’s L nuts – haha).
3:00-3:30 – We walk home, get the kiddos a snack, and I wash out X’s Bentgo kids box.
3:30-4:30 – Eli takes a nap, while I play MarioCart with the big boys and do a little more work in the basement. Put dinner in the oven at 4:30.
5:00 – Daddy is home!
5:00-7:20 – Kiddos horse around with daddy. Dinner gets on the table and consumed. Bath time, books, milk, teeth, and bed time all happen.
7:30-10:00 – Hang out with John in basement… I work while watching TV and catch up with John while he games.
Each day is an adventure with three kiddos and running two businesses from home, but I’m thankful every day for it!
