Our little man turned two months old yesterday! We were supposed to have his check up at 5pm last evening, but the snow storm caused our pediatricians office to close (which was actually pretty annoying because they didn’t call us to tell us and we were shoveled out and could have made it there; it’s about a mile away). Anyway, I’ll be calling them this morning to make sure we get rescheduled because we have some questions and I don’t want his vaccination schedule getting thrown off!
Two months seems to have flown by. We’ve certainly had some long days, but I really can’t believe he’s two months old already!
We think Lincoln may be dealing with some silent reflux or some intense gas pains – the shrieking this kid can do after eating can be crazy! It’s not consistent, so that’s why we’re not sure which it is, but I’m looking forward to getting some answers soon. He seems so long to us, so we are also excited to find out his height! We’ve done the get on the scale/off the scale while holding him, so we think he weighs about 12 pounds – he’s a growing weed! So funny to think about where Xander’s growth was at this time! Lincoln’s good nursing is paying off!
Sleep is going pretty well too! He sleeps 3 hours at a time consistently and has given us a few 4-5 hours stretches as well. Of course the only time he’s done a 5 hour stretch was from 8-1, so we were only asleep for three of the hours! Nonetheless, he seems to be doing well in his mini-crib and definitely prefers that during the day for napping (verse the pack and play). At night is when he has more screaming fits, so sometimes his first chunk of sleep is cuddled up with me and then he goes into the mini crib for the rest of the night. Really can’t complain!
Lincoln is starting to smile at us and his cues are oh so adorable! He’s doing well being bathed and enjoys watching Xander in the bath with his toys. We bathe the boys together, with John holding Lincoln in the water and me washing all around him quickly. This is working out much better than using at type of seat because he was getting so cold. Ohh, I almost completely forgot! Lincoln can roll from his belly to his back already! He’s done it at least five times! Strong guy!
We’ll be taking Lincon’s “official” two month photos (with his stick-on tie) over the weekend. You’d think we would be more productive on snow days with John home, but our schedule just gets thrown off and it becomes a chaotic day! Luckily this morning John just has a delay and the boys are both snoozing while I write this. I seriously can’t believe it!
We love you little Lincoln and enjoy watching you grow and learn!
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day – I do have another post planned for today if I get time to write it during nap time!
Much love, Katie
