Last week little Lincoln turned 3 months old! Like I mentioned in my last post, things have a bit crazy in the Heddleston household and I’m a little behind on the kids’ updates! Xander’s will be up next!
Happy Awake Time
This past month Lincoln has started to have more happy awake time, which is SO nice. Previously, it was eat, sleep, or scream, so happy awake time is amazing. Speaking of his screaming, the nighttime fits between the hours of 6-9pm are just recently starting to become more bearable. We’ve been reminded that this super fussiness (colic if you will) decreases around 10-12 weeks, so now that we’re just getting past those weeks we are starting to notice it decrease… but are also excited for a few more weeks to pass so we can have even more happy baby time.
About two weekends ago, Lincoln also made his first little road trip! We drove home to PA and BOTH kids did amazing. It’s funny to think that when we only had Xander, we always had to stop for a break half way through the trip (the trip is only 2 hours 15 minutes). However, we add a second kid to the mix and we didn’t have to stop during EITHER trip. What!? We fed the kids right before we got in the car and they both took naps! When they both awoke they were just happy until we arrived to Gramma’s! While at home, we met with the monsieur from the church I grew up in /where John and I were married, about Lincoln’s baptism. He’s going to be baptized on Easter! We are thrilled that he gets to be the Easter baptism baby and share this sacrament with the holiest of days.
Lincoln attends music class and Bounce U with big brother Xander and does quite well! During the second music class there was a lot less crying, more happy time, and some sleep time! During Bounce U preschool play date, I wear Lincoln in the Ergo and he automatically is lulled to sleep by the gentle bouncing mommy does on the inflatables while having fun with Xander. He practically sleeps the whole two hours during preschool play date and during either visit hasn’t needed to be fed. It’s been really fun.
Xander is showing more and more genuine interest in Lincoln and it’s the cutest. thing. ever. He gets concerned with he cries, he puts his wubby back in his mouth, and he generally tries to play with Lincoln too. He also likes messing with his face, which I try to keep to a minimum, but Lincoln typically just smiles back at him with an admiring look! I can’t wait for him to be crawling and chasing Xander around – the boys are going to get big kicks out of each other I’m sure!
Likes and Dislikes!
Likes: his wubby, sucking on his fingers, sleeping while held, sleeping on his belly, rolling from belly to back, big brother silly faces, being in the swing (usually), car rides, baby wearing, tummy time, and mommy milk of course.
Dislikes: being bathed (usually), being cold, being put in the crib too soon, sleeping on his back, playing on his back for too long, and when big kids are too loud in his face.
Lincoln’s personality is really starting to come out and I’m excited to see his progression of the next couple months! I keep thinking of when Xander reached milestones, so I’m anticipating what could be coming up next! Life with two sweet kiddos only 21 months apart can be busy and stressful at times, but I’m so filled with love for these boys that I can’t imagine our family any other way. Lincoln has already learned to have a pretty go-with-the-flow personality and our family of four is having so much fun already. The summer months are going to be a blast, I think!!
If you have any questions for me during Lincoln’s monthly baby updates, just let me know!
