Time is FLYING!! Things seriously pass by so much quicker when it comes to the second child. I think a secret goal of mine is to make sure I get some pictures actually printed out and hung on the walls of Lincoln before he turns one. (True story.) But, now that Xander is a toddler, he thinks all the baby pictures are Lincoln anyway, sooo to him there are at least pictures around.
One of the big events that happened this month is that Lincoln left his mini crib and is now in the standard size crib! (Xander is also now in a twin size bed). A few days after we moved him into the big crib, we also kicked him out of our room :p. Bittersweet. Presumably he’s sleeping better, but time will tell because we all got sick and no one was sleeping well. At all. I’ll spare you the details.
^^Top pictures all of him in the mini crib. Bottom left picture is in the standard crib. Bottom middle picture is sick baby. 🙁
So yes, we all got sick and I think in 4 nights of sleep, I got about 18 hours of broken sleep. It was all pretty awful and thankfully the boys (the kid boys – John never got this sickness – lucky duck), are doing really well now… just little runny noses. I’m getting better too and I actually don’t sound like I have laryngitis anymore. Okay, but I was sparing you the details… let’s move on…
Lincoln’s personality is absolutely amazing. He’s such a smiley dude, happy, playful, and makes the best faces in town. With the amazingness also comes his dramatic side (makes sense for what seems like an outgoing personality… dramatically happy – dramatically unhappy?) Ha anyway, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard the decibels his shrieking can reach. Ohh and his other dramatic side is puke. Yup, puke. Give him medicine? Puke. Let him cry in the crib for less than 5 minutes? Puke. Gotta love this kid! He can smile through puke with the best of them. Seriously his personality is so precious.
It’s been so fun to see Lincoln’s development throughout the month. He’s so interested in everyone and everything. He can just sit on the floor and crawl around playing with toys and Xander. With that, comes a mommy of hawk of making sure all of Xander’s toys don’t have little parts! I’m actually quite surprised with that part though – I’ve only taken away like three little parts! Anyway, the kids are playing together so nicely these days and I’ve surprisingly been able to even sew BAMR Bands when they’re both awake! Granted it’s only 10-15 minutes here and there, but it’s nice to see that it will be possible to do!
Speaking of the kids playing nicely, just look at these two! I’m not sure who loves the other one more! Xander loves checking the monitor to see if Lincoln is awake, and right when he does wake up, Xander declares: “Lincoln awake! Get him!!” A few times I’ve said, “why don’t you get him?” And he’ll plod upstairs, open his door, and then they talk away! Cutest thing ever.
I also witnessed what could have been the kids first fight! Ha… so Xander was sitting at his little table and Lincoln was in his little play seat. I thought Xander was leaning his chair back on purpose to bonk Lincoln in the head… but NOPE!! Lincoln was pulling Xander’s chair down! You should’ve seen the pout on Xander’s face! He immediately moved from the little table to the big table to get away from Lincoln. I’m sure I’ll be refereeing quite a few matches in the future!
Well anyway, month 8 has been pretty awesome. Lincoln will have an appointment at 9 months, so I’ll get updated stats on his height, weight, head circumference. To me, he is strong and healthy! Ohhhh speaking of strong, just in the nick of time on his 8th month birthday yesterday, he pulled up to standing! Gahhhh make time STOP!!
Mommy, daddy, and big brother love you so much LL!!
Have an awesome weekend friends!
