Today, Tuesday October 11, 2011, I’m officially 16 weeks pregnant! So I better tell you all about week 15, right?
How Big is Baby: Baby is the size of an apple! At four inches long from crown to rump, baby weighs 2.5 ounces.
How I’m Changing: I needed to buy my first round of new bras. Enough said.
How I’m Feeling: Well, this week I cried more than any other week! I’m not sure why I was so emotional, but I was! I cried over the exterminator, what people said on Facebook, at the movie 50/50 (which may have happened regardless of being pregnant), and then again at the mean Target employee in the fitting room. Ugh! I also felt a few cramps this week, so I hope that’s just a sign that Baby H. is getting bigger!
What I’ve Been Eating: Nothing out of the ordinary. John and I did really well with planning our meals this week. Some of the meals were: shrimp + rice, spaghetti squash + meat sauce, and ham + quinoa.
Weight I’ve Gained: I gain two pounds this week! Yay for my first pounds! My net weight difference is -7 pounds now.
How I’ve Been Sleeping: I feel like I’ve still been sleeping great! I wake up once around 2-4 am to pee, and then again around 6:30 am when John wakes up for work. I will then fall back asleep for another 1-3 hours depending on the day. I’ve started to sleep with a little neck pillow near my back so when I roll over in my sleep I’m not laying flat on my back. (I’ll take a picture of this description for next week.)
Odds and Ends: I have my next doctors appointment in one week! So excited. After this visit she’ll be putting in the order for the anatomy scan a.k.a. when we can find out the sex of Baby H!!
John’s Thoughts: Although the pregnancy has been pretty easy so far, I think the most difficult issue has been Katie’s increased emotional see-saw. As she previously mentioned, this past week she has gotten very emotional overly seemingly innocuous events. It breaks my heart to see her so upset, but some of these events come from so far in left field that I don’t know the best way to handle it. Do I just give her non-specific “it’ll be ok’s?” Do I just give her a hug until she calms down? I think I will get better at adjusting to pregnancy-driven emotional swings but right now it’s still very much a learning process.
Outtakes: We had really enjoyable weather this week, so John and I were very active. This picture was taken before leaving for our run — we had pre-run music blaring and it was a good time.
Haha. Totally my personality. I hope baby enjoyed the dance!
