Today, Tuesday October 18, 2011, I’m officially 17 weeks pregnant! Time to tell you all about week 16!
How Big is Baby: Baby is the size of an avocado! At 4.5 inches long from crown to rump, baby weighs 3.5 ounces.
How I’m Changing: Nothing too noticeable this week, so let me tell you about how sensitive my gag reflex has become while brushing my teeth (tongue really). I’m not sure how to describe it, but basically, get in touch with your mouth wash, because brushing the back of your tongue becomes interesting. There are seriously some nights that John comes rushing into the bathroom because of the noise I make while brushing the teefers.
How I’m Feeling: I’ve been feeling great! It’s been rainy and cold so I haven’t worked out as much, but I really need to change that and just walk to the gym in the cold. I have been WAY less emotional than last week, thank goodness, and only cried once this week!
Number of Workouts/Walks: Two elliptical workouts / one walk this week.
What I’ve Been Eating: Still no cravings! I’ve been enjoying my gluten-free egg drop soup, homemade applesauce, my yummy breakfast bars, and toast with cinnamon + sugar.
Weight I’ve Gained: This week I gained 1.3 pounds. My net weight difference is -5.7 pounds now. I’ll be breaking even soon!
How I’ve Been Sleeping: I really enjoy napping 🙂 I wouldn’t say my energy is super low or anything, I’ve just always enjoy naps and have continued to do so more while pregnant. (Especially on the weekends).
Odds and Ends: I purchased a few clothing items that are super cute now and have room for a baby bump to grow. My sister visited me over the weekend.
John’s Thoughts: This past week was far easier than week 15; the emotions weren’t running as high. I think my newest concern/issue is how to keep both of us motivated to exercise as the weather gets colder and nastier. This particular hurdle isn’t really anything novel to pregnancy, but I envision that it will be a bit more challenging to overcome since Katie’s energy level isn’t as high. I think at least going for a couple-mile walk, if we don’t feel like running, is a good direction to go. We’ll see how well we can stick to it.
Things We Are Looking Forward Too: My doctor’s appointment this afternoon! Ordering our baby crib. Finding out if critter (lol, this is John’s nickname for the baby) is a boy or girl. Feeling the baby move in my belly!
