Today, November 22, 2011, I’m 22 weeks pregnant!! These weeks seem to be flying by now. You know the drill, it’s time I tell you all about week 21!
Above Outfit Notes: I love wearing this blue shirt from Gap because it’s very flattering on the bump. The jeans I’m wearing are my first (and only so far) pair of maternity jeans. They are Liz Lange brand from Target. They are designed for when you have a small bump and are to be worn below the belly. There is stretch throughout the entire pant, a zipper and button for the fastener, and elastic gathers on both sides. I took one size smaller in this jean and there is still plenty of room. I really hope I can get a lot of wear out of this pant before buying my first pair of full panel jeans.
How Big Is Baby: According to BabyCenter, baby now weights about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10.5 inches long — the length of a carrot!
How I’m Feeling: I feel amazing still! My energy is great and my emotions have had a great week. I’ve luckily only had one little headache since last week, which was full of them.
How I’m Changing: I’ve had a few feelings of tightness in the very low pelvic area this week. I think this might be our baby boy making his presence known! This whole anterior placenta thing is starting to make me anxious to feel him more!
I’ve been sooo hungry this week! As I’m currently writing this (on Monday night), all I can think about is finishing this post so I can get a snack — baby wants some food!
How I’m Sleeping: I’ve had a few crappy nights of sleep this week just due to not getting comfortable. Also, a few times when I woke up in the middle of the night to pee I’ve been having trouble falling back to sleep. This is not characteristic of me at all.
Number of Workouts: I had an amazing 3.9 mile walk/run this week along with lots of walking over the weekend. I also did a little lifting with my arms twice this week. I wish my cardio would have had a few more “standard” workouts, but I’m still pleased with this week.
Weight I’ve Gained: This week I finally gained back the last of the 9 pounds that I lost in the first trimester! I gained 2.8 pounds this week, making me at a +1.7 for my net difference. I’m not really sure what’s the best way to start counting this now… do I just keep track of the net difference or just add the 1.7 to the 9 that I had to regain? Thoughts?
Buying Gifts for Baby: We didn’t buy anything for our little boy this week, but our little mister got a little spoiled on Saturday! We visited Baby J’s family, who I used to nanny for, for dinner and our little man came home with a bunch of baby clothes that J used to wear! I couldn’t believe it! Baby J’s mom had picked out some of my favorite outfits to put J in and handed them down to our bambino! How sweet, right? She also sent us off with a two presents — a cute little toy truck and baby’s first piggy bank, complete with his first dollar! Baby J’s family is truly like family to us and we are so appreciative to them and thankful for them!
John’s Thoughts: I don’t have much to say this week. The move to MD is becoming more and more real…just yesterday I had to set up utilities at the new address. We also had a baby shower for a co-worker. All of these events make me really think about being a father and soon our whole lives are going to change (for the better)! It’s still surreal to think about what’s coming up in a few short months…but we’ll be ready for it!
Things We Are Looking Forward To:
- Thanksgiving gravy.
- Baby’s first race — the Hollidaysburg Turkey Trot!
- Taking pictures for our Christmas card (hopefully happening this week).
- Having our moving forms completely accepted into John’s employers system.
