Hi Friends!! This week was all about getting as many boxes unpacked as possible and then, um, coming back to Ohio. John was in a friend’s wedding over the weekend, then we had a baby shower, and now we’re hanging out at John’s parents house. With all the craziness, week 25 has flown by! Today, December 20, 2011, I’m officially 26 weeks pregnant and am ready to tell you all about last week!
Okay, so I know that picture is not from our new porch as promised last week, but I don’t have access to my desktop and this was the side view picture that I had from this week! If it looks like we had a good time at our friend’s wedding, it’s because we did!
How Big is Baby: According to BabyCenter, baby Heddleston now measures 13.5 inches and weighs 1.5 pounds (about the weight of a rutabaga). Baby is starting to exchange his long lean look for some baby fat. He also is growing more hair and if we had x-ray vision, we’d be able to see his hair color and texture!
How I’m Feeling: I feel awesome! I know I might sound like a broken record, but I’ve been so blessed during this pregnancy. I’m still sleeping well (with only getting up to pee once a night), my energy is still at a great level, and I really feel like myself. I’m sure the trimester is going to bring on the biggest changes for me, but I’m ready!
How I’m We’re Changing: Ohh, I think I forgot to tell you last week! Baby has been hiccuping! It’s happened about three times, but it’s so cool to feel baby doing something inside there! I also *think* he might have kicked me on Saturday. I’m excited for him to start moving more!
Weight I’ve Gained: Like last week, I don’t have access to a scale this week. I did weigh in last week and had lost a pound during move week. I’m guessing over this past week I’ve stayed the same or gained one pound. Things have been busy and I haven’t noticed a huge increase in appetite.
Number of Workouts: Nothing official this week, but unpacking boxes and organizing a townhouse with three flights of stairs is a workout all on its own! We had a first floor apartment previously and never had to walk up stairs — ha!
What I’ve Been Eating: Cereal, bagels with cream cheese, lots of grapes, amazing wedding food, and out to eat at a yummy Amish restaurant.
Next Doctor’s Appointment: Today! This appointment will be our last with the Cleveland Clinic and January will start our new insurance and new doctor. Guess I have some work to do :/
John’s Thoughts: This is the last Christmas with just the two of us! It’s very exciting to think that very soon all of our family gatherings will include a new little addition. I’m looking forward to buying gifts for our little guy as well as seeing the joy in his face to open presents Christmas morning. It also means that Katie and I will get to start passing on our own traditions.
Buying Gifts for Baby: Baby got spoiled this week! On Sunday, my SIL, Sara, threw me a baby shower!! She did an awesome job and we had a great time! I’m so excited to get all his little clothes, blankies, etc, washed and in his nursery. I’ll be doing a full baby shower post later this week, but here’s a sneak peak:
What We’re Looking Forward To This Week:
- Celebrating Christmas with both our families
- Celebrating Christmas in Maryland with each other
- Celebrating John’s birthday! (On Christmas!)
