Saturday morning we headed down to the Nike Women’s Half Marathon packet pick-up and expotique. We were ready to get out the door when Xander woke up.
Xander does so well on the metro! We popped on the red line and headed to foggy bottom. We then walked into Georgetown to the packet pick-up and expotique.
Packet pick-up was in a small tent and there was no wait when we arrived. I saw a few other posts about lines being 45 minutes long – so I’m glad we arrived when we did! Included in our bag was: a hair tie/bracelet, samples from expotique sponsors, a Nike code for a chance to win a prize and obviously our bib! Tee shirts would be given out after finishing.
Ha, it looks like I only have one earring in – I promise there were two!
The expo was an expotique… which basically means it was small. The main focus in the expotique were Luna Bars and sign making (my favorite area), getting a make under at Bare Minerals, getting a 15 minute hair appointment with Paul Mitchell, and then gait analysis/shoe fitting at the Nike area. We walked around and but the main area I did was the sign making with the Luna Bar people – they also had samples and running mantra temporary tattoos for the race.
Packet pick-up was smooth. Expotique was cute and very girly. There were many signs for the Georgetown Nike store and if you wanted Nike gear you couldn’t buy it at the expotique – so there was a huge focus on getting you to the store (which we did not). The restaurants around the expotique were pricey, so we ended up not having brunch like our original plan. In fact, the only reason I think the expo and packet pick-up were in Georgetown was because the store was near by.
